Historic Downtown Morrilton
   Business Opportunities

Downtown Morrilton offers an ideal location in central Arkansas if you are thinking about relocating/growing your business, and would like a hospitable, supportive locale. The rents are affordable, taxes reasonable, interstate and highway access is convenient and the business atmosphere is dynamic as the Fayatteville Shale project continues to boom. The business-oriented city government and a vibrant Chamber of Commerce provide excellent support in addition to that of community leaders. Moreover, it is the home of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton, which enriches the academic and cultural life of the city and enables the citizens of Morrilton and Conway County to participate in many educational, cultural and recreational pursuits.

VERY Affordable Rents:
Retail: 25 cents to $1.00 per square foot
Office: 25 cents to $1.00 per square foot

Infrastructure Investment:
Extensive streetscape and infrastructure improvements have been completed in the Downtown Business District.  The Rialto Theater was recently restored and façade improvements, both private and public, enhance the aspect of Main Street. The installation of period street lighting and new sidewalks with bricks has been completed and landscaping beautifies the environment.

The Economic Restructuring Committee for Main Street Morrilton has recently identified the following businesses opportunities (as just a sample) to help fulfill our vision for the Main Street District:

Restaurants
Coffee Shop
Sports Bar and Grill

Service Industry
Mortgage Loan Company

Shopping
Sell it on Ebay store
Petit Jean Products Store
Downtown MultiComplex Mall

In addition to the above businesses, Entrepeneur.com  publishes a annual list of the top 500 Franchises for new business start-ups. Their site is a very good place to begin when researching a franchise business.

Main Street Morrilton believes all our downtown buildings are ideal for office space, small buisness start-ups, and a myriad of internet-based businesses. Each building in the district has access to broadband internet connections. In addition, sales from walk-in traffic should further increase as upper floors in our downtown continue to be renovated for residential housing.

Contact the Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce at 354-2393 for more information if you are interested in starting a business in downtown Morrilton. They have contact information for building owners as well as economic and demographic statistics for Morrilton and the surrounding area.

Finally additional funding is available for qualified renovations to buildings in the Morrilton Historic District. Click here to learn more.
