First National Bank—C. 1927—Begun by Mr. J. J. Scroggin who died unexpectedly in early 1924, this landmark building was completed by his son in 1927…the Bank was a victim of the times & the building was soon occupied by a variety of other businesses, until 1941 when the First State Bank relocated its operations here…although the building is vacant today, its potential is sky-high, much like the building itself…it is the tallest building for any city our size in Arkansas at a towering 5 stories.
