The five most important long-term downtown revitalization goals that Main Street Morrilton hopes to achieve:
- Promote historic preservation of buildings including removal of all metal facades
- 100% occupancy in both downstairs and upstairs of all buildings
- Obtain ISTEA or other funding for a final Phase 3 revitalization project
- Create a longterm funding mechanism(s) for the Main Street organization
- Involve youth e.g. start a Junior Main Street board.
The five most important downtown revitalization goals that Main Street Morrilton hopes to accomplish in the next two years:
- Obtain funding from community businesses, government, to develop a paid staff and become a Main Street Arkansas approved program
- Public forum to develop overall vision and economic restructuring plan for downtown (e.g. antique district, upscale shopping, service district, etc)
- Obtain low interest loans from local banks for residential development in upstairs of buildings
- Collaborate with UACCM and area high schools to offer student discount cards to local students to increase their spending in downtown.
- Develop a downtown business recruitment brochure to attract targeted businesses and national retailers
